New Jersey Festival of Balloons

New Jersey has the largest hot air balloon festival in North America. About 125 hot air balloons were blown up and released in this weekend's festival.

Spiderpig showed up... And shark week was kicked off, too.

There were other knicknacks on the side as well.

Champagne is the traditional beverage of balloonists. Apparently, when ballooning was invented in the 1700s in France, they would accidentally land in farmer's fields. The farmers, unhappy about balloonists landing in their crops, would come after them with pitchforks. If a balloonist brought champagne as a peace offering, the farmer was not quite as upset about the landing.
